How to find peace

 Searching for peace in the moment,
looking for signs of tranquility in the morrow.
Offering sincere prayers, noble intentions
… acts of goodness today,
hoping to secure,
a little happiness tomorrow.

Failing to recognize
tomorrow is not for sale today, and  
future’s debt is seldom paid in advance
That future will undoubtedly unfurl its own distress
touch everyone, exempt no-one
 
So, if It is quietude that’s sought
set about it amidst the tumult
bring tranquility to one moment, then
join it with another
Instead of divining the peace of tomorrow
build a little today.
